FIONA CAPSTICK generously donates two limited edition volumes of African wildlife art from the personal library of Peter Hathaway Capstick, duly identified as such with calligraphy bookplates. These outsize volumes, in near-fine condition, are bound in maroon and black leather and are contained in black slipcases with gold lettering. They form part of The Director's Collection of African wildlife art and were printed in Botswana in a limited edition of 1,250 copies worldwide. Each volume is signed and authenticated by the publisher of the series, John Richardson. Volume Two in the series, No 275 of 1,250, is entitled SURVIVAL and was published in 1990. Volume Three, No 86 of 1,250, is entitled IN FULL FLIGHT and was published in 1991. Both volumes contain full-color paintings, associated photography, as well as a profusion of black-and-white sketches and essays by acknowledged experts. Special ph-negative art paper from Germany was used throughout. Thumbnail biographies and photographs of the artists are included, representing some of the most accomplished wildlife artists of Southern Africa who were especially commissioned for this series. The paintings feature Botswana, Kenya, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe, depicting mammals, birds, marine life and reptiles. A true collector's item. Dallas Safari Club thanks Fiona Capstick for this 100% donation. Fiona Capstick, 011 2712 460 2788, Fax 011 2712 460 2820, 212 Lawley Street, Waterkloof, Pretoria 0181, South Africa, ralli@mweb.co.za
