Donated by WOUNDED WARRIOR OUTDOORS: American flag, with a certificate of authenticity, was flown over an Afghanistan military base in honor of combat wounded warrior alumni GySgt Brian Meyer USMC. The intrinsic value of this one-of-a-kind historic flag is priceless. GySgt Meyer was an EOD specialist who was injured in Afghanistan by an IED explosion and now wishes to help raise funds for Wounded Warriors Outdoors, Inc. (WWO) and the Dallas Ecological Foundation (DEF). Auction proceeds will be equally shared by WWO and DEF. Both organizations are 501(c)(3) charitable organizations. Reference Charitable Education Qualifications in the Official Auction Rules section of your Auction Catalog. Separate payments to WWO and DEF will be required. DEF's mission is to empower today's youth with the awareness to appreciate and embrace all outdoor and wildlife conservation skills thus enabling them to be educated, accomplished and respectful stewards of the world's natural resources and to instill them with the passion to pass their knowledge to future generations. DEF's Outdoor Adventure's program is taught in 170 secondary schools with a current student enrollment of 16,000. The WWO is a volunteer non-profit organization founded to provide combat wounded active duty men and women with therapeutic outdoor opportunities throughout North America. These programs help ease the mental, physical and emotional challenges faced these young American heroes and give them the opportunity to once again enjoy the great outdoors that they have sacrificed so unselfishly to protect. GySgt Meyer is a true hero with a tremendous positive attitude and will present the flag to the winning bidder at the evening auction.
